SERVICE MANAGER
Established in 1948, Maple City Marine has grown to become your premier marine dealer in the southern Ontario region. We are seeking a Service Manager to join our fast-paced, customer oriented establishment. The individual must be welcoming, outgoing, and extremely well organized. Maintaining a high level of customer communication and satisfaction is critical to the success of this position. Previous experience in the Marine Industry is a must. Responsibilities and Duties
- Oversee day-to-day service operations including scheduling and distribution of work for service technicians and yard team.
- Effectively manage technicians, to ensure team objectives and sales goals are being met.
- Offer exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by having extensive knowledge of products and services.
- Responsible for taking care of any customer concerns or complaints quickly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Oversee team members performing inspections, preparing reports, and doing repairs.
- Estimate cost of repairs and prepare itemized work orders listing costs of parts and labor.
- Coordinate with the manufacturer and/or extended warranty companies to get approval in advance of repairs.
- Routinely inspect quality of work performed as required, prior to delivery to the customer.
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years in Marine Industry (at least 2 in Management)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Very organized and detail oriented
- Proven track record in employee management and customer service

The responsibilities of this position include client interface and ensuring client satisfaction, detailed estimates, outsourcing competitive subcontracting services and material purchases, contract negotiations, review of purposed designs for constructability and installation, updating and enforcing project schedules, problem solving, coordinating project meetings, keeping project records and documents including change orders, inspecting projects and monitoring progress and job quality. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
Provide project documents for completion of drawings and review project scope with Detailing Department
Communicate clearly with regards to project schedule and all relative information relating to the scope of the project
Perform/review risk management to minimize project risks
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for seamless execution of project
Develop a project plan to monitor and track progress
Proactively manage changes to the project scope, schedule and costs
Conduct regular site visits to measure project progress and quality of workmanship
Review the status of the project on an ongoing basis, as well as any new developments or issues arising on the project
Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Participate in weekly meetings to review scheduling, current and upcoming work, staffing and processes
Requirements:
Minimum three to five years' related experience
Able to work effectively both independently (self-motivated) and as part of team
Excellent communication skills

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Structural Steel Detailer to join our team in London, Ont.
The person who fills this position will be responsible for creating and checking erection and fabrication shop drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metal. Must be able to review and understand the extent of contractual obligations set forth in the specifications to ensure that work performed/produced is completed within the contractual scope.
Applicants must have a current working knowledge/understanding of the latest version of the AISC regulations/requirements and building codes as they relate to connection design, detailing practices, steel member dimensions and properties. Applicants must also be proficient with AutoCAD & Microsoft Office Products and have the ability to multitask.
Skills, Experience and Education:
- Drafting Trade Certification; valid Driver's License required.
- Experience with: Computer-aided drafting (CAD), shop drawings, and detailing drafting
- Ability to: prepare engineering designs and drawings; develop and prepare design sketches; complete documentation packages and drawing sets; examine drawings for conformity and errors.
- Computer Competencies: Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, CAD software (computer assisted software)
- Working Conditions & Physical Capabilities: fast-paced environment; ability to perform under pressure; tight deadlines; sitting for long periods of time.
- Essential Skills: Ability to speak and read English; reading text; numeracy; writing; communication; working with others; problem solving; decision making; critical thinking; job task planning and organizing; research.
- Other Information: Minimum of 3 years' experience using AutoCAD or advanced steel. You must be able to read design drawings and produce accurate field diagrams and shop fabrication details.

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Fabricator to join our team in London, Ontario.
This position requires an individual who is highly skilled at using structural drawings to design and execute fabrication projects. The responsibilities of this position include interpreting blueprints, reading welding symbols, studying specifications, fitting and welding steel handrails, stairs, platforms, structural steel, tanks, equipment frames, etc. The hours of work for this position are Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:15pm.
Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Ability to interpret structural steel drawings and apply them to fabrication
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, including lifting, reaching, and climbing
- Steel fabrication with the ability to layout and mark material to be cut and welded
- Perform precision burning, create jigs, have a working knowledge of fabrication hand tools
- Align and fit parts according to specifications
- Inspect materials, components, welds, and equipment for defects or malfunctions
Requirements:
- Minimum five years' experience in a similar position
- Experience with operating welding equipment using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW with various structural steel material
- Experience with operating iron working equipment
- Ability to adapt to changes in job scope
- Works well as part of team
- Ability to follow instruction and work with minimal supervision
- Solid knowledge of the use of Personal Protective Equipment, machine guards, and safe working procedures
- Attention to detail a must
