Operation & maintenance of landfill gas collection system (vertical wells, condensate collection system, monitoring stations) in accordance with corporative, local & provincial regulations..
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitor LFG well field to optimize collection efficiency.
- Balances individual gas extraction wells
- Monitors LFG perimeter wells and leachate levels in LFG extraction wells.
- Operate and maintain liquid management system pneumatic or electric driven pumps (troubleshoot & determine liquid levels within liquid containment structures and/or LFG collection wells).
- Operation and maintenance of LFG control plant and flare unit. Monitor system, responds to system alarms.
- Regular inspections of LFG systems (collection, control, flare, condensate, etc.).
- Coordinates extraction of condensate
- Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Maintains monitoring equipment and arranges for external calibration.
- Records monitoring and maintenance data
- Analysis of field data collected to adjust gas collection system for optimum long-term emissions control.
- Prepare and submit compliance, operational and safety forms or reports
Requirements:
- College Diploma in Environmental Sciences
- 1-2 years' experience in an industrial process control operations environment preferably with LFG collection and control systems.
- Valid Ontario driver's license.
- SWANA LFG training courses or equivalent.
- Environmental monitoring experience.
- Blower and/or flare maintenance experience.
- Basic mechanical/electrical/technical skills/aptitude.
- Land surveying experience.
- Class A or B Gas Fitter.
- Red Seal certification in a related trade.
