Executive Director The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Inc. After many years, the Executive Director of The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Inc. (The Hospice) is retiring. The Board of Directors is seeking a visionary leader to continue our journey of providing exceptional care and support to our clients and families. The Hospice was established in 1979 and is one of the largest community-based hospices in Ontario. Our vision is to be an oasis of peace, comfort and trust supporting the whole person with respect, compassion and empathy. The Hospice offers numerous programs and services to persons with a life altering diagnosis and their families/caregivers that include: a palliative medicine program, social work and spiritual care (all which provide home visits), wellness centre programs, a comprehensive volunteer program, and two residential homes - one located in Windsor and the other in Leamington. The Hospice is currently under construction to add two additional beds in Windsor increasing the total number of beds from 18 to 20 in Essex County. Last year Hospice served 2,181 patients and families through all of our programs and services. There were over 285 wellness centre program sessions, 7,045 nurse educator and physician visits and over 5,580 social work and spiritual care visits. We have over 900 active volunteers providing more than 89,200 hours of support. Chief Financial Officer Howard Mutual Insurance Company (HMI) is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will be a key contributor and support to our leadership team. Reporting to the President/Chief Executive Officer, the CFO is responsible for providing strong financial management and analysis for the company. HMI is a progressive, growth-oriented property and casualty Mutual insurer owned by its policyholders providing residential, farm, automobile and commercial products. The Ridgetown head office and Blenheim branch office are located in southwestern Ontario between the cities of London and Windsor. There are 25 dedicated insurance professionals and sales agents who provide high quality services to company stakeholders. The preferred candidate will be a strong team player with the skills to anticipate problems and provide forward thinking solutions. You have a demonstrated ability to build and nurture strong relationships with external service providers and all internal stakeholders. You are a self-starter with a strong work ethic, have a collaborative approach in developing strategies and action plans that achieve company and department goals. The successful person will be part of the Management Team overseeing company operations. They will be responsible for the overall management and day to day operations of the finance and accounting department including preparation of monthly/annual financial statements, cash management, investments, payroll and benefits, reinsurance and regulatory reporting. To be considered for this important role, you must have an accounting designation (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA) in good standing and preferably an undergraduate degree in Business/Commerce/Administration. At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in a senior finance position is required and it would be a definite asset to have a background in P & C insurance and experience within the Mutual insurance industry.
