Required Experience/Skills:
- 1 - 2 years experience working around heavy equipment (i.e. excavators, dozers, etc)
- Proper use of survey & level equipment
- Installation of sanitary & storm sewers
- Installation of water mains & services
- Read & write English
- Read & interpret blue prints
- Able to provide your own transportation
Job Duties:
- Guiding excavating equipment to safely excavate foundations, sewer & water services
- Setting elevations for foundation footings
- Installation of sewers & water mains
- Lift heavy loads up to 70 lbs & navigate construction job site terrain
- Dig pits, trenches & foundations in preparation for job site construction
- Identify overhead & underground utilities
- Perform setup & clean up tasks at job site
- Direct traffic when necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians, motorists & work crew
- Back-fill trenches & pits
- Use of electric, pneumatic, gas powered hand tools & compaction equipment
- Work Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday work
- Must be punctual & reliable
- Required to work in team settings
- Work in variable weather conditions & come prepared with your own PPE
