The successful candidate will serve as the PrePress leader of their respective facility, to assist in the production activities and have the desire to be part of a team who prides itself on delivering the best product to our customers. The position reports to the Operations Manager:
Job Responsibilities:
- Solid understanding of offset printing
- Ability to troubleshoot print related file issues
- Strong understanding of layout and imposition requirements
- Oversee PrePress Department Associates, including performance reviews, personnel issues, training, etc.
- Participate in supplier evaluations, sustainability team, and continuous improvement, customer and corporate conference calls
- Must possess excellent problem solving skills
- Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Enfocus PitStop knowledge
- Knowledge of Kodak Prinergy Workflow and Pandora is a definite asset
- Understanding of Colour Management and press fingerprinting principles
- Works closely with production planning/scheduling to process orders in a timely manner
- Must have solid working knowledge of the Mac operating system is a must
- Service customer service department and Technical resource for department workstations, servers, CTP device and plate processor
- Special projects as assigned by the Operation Manager
- Other duties as assigned
Job Specific Competencies and Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Graphics Design/Communications or similar
- Minimum of five years of experience in a Prepress/technical management/supervisory role Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with other departments
- Strong problem solving skills and established ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
