Busy and growing automotive dealership looking for an experienced Controller to join their team. This is a full-time position based in London, Ontario. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a Controller or high-level accounting role within an automotive dealership. Starting salary of $50,000 to $60,000 per year plus benefits, based on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities include: - Preparation of monthly, annual and other periodic financial statements and reports on an accurate and timely basis. - Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate dealership financial results. - Payroll & sales commission processing, government remittances, T4 and ROE preparation. - Oversee daily functions of the Accounting Department. - Manage cash, floor plan and working capital balances. - Monitor inventory levels. - Development and implementation of effective accounting strategies, policies and procedures. - Assist with developing financial and operational targets for the dealership. - Recruitment, hiring and training of administrative personnel. - Management of HR and IT functions. - Coordinate annual financial statement review and income tax filings with external accountants. - Facilitate compliance with all applicable legislation, such as the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code, Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation, Privacy Act, AODA. Requirements: - Minimum three (3) years' Controller or high-level accounting experience within an automotive dealership. - Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures. - Understanding of government regulations and reporting requirements. - A strong working knowledge of Dealership DMS required, with knowledge of PBS an asset. - Working knowledge of accounting software (Simply Accounting preferred) and Excel. - Strong oral and written communication skills. - Ability to organize, coordinate, manage people and direct projects. - Strong analytical and technical skills. - Ability to maintain a positive work environment and act in a professional and ethical matter at all times. We are looking to fill a new full-time position in our Port Burwell office, approximately 25 minutes south of Tillsonburg Ontario. This hands-on role encompasses a wide range of duties such as inputting accounts payable invoices and expense reports, generating cheque runs and wire payments, reconciling credit card statements, resolving accounts payable issues with vendors, and completing special project work as assigned. In addition, you may be required to assist with bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end accruals, intercompany billings, payroll functions and a variety of general office and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will have 2+ years' experience within an accounts payable department of a small to midsized company. You have an accounting diploma or certificate, solid knowledge of the accounting cycle, and fast, accurate data entry skills. Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency is critical for this role and previous Microsoft Great Plains experience would be an asset. If you are comfortable meeting tight deadlines and are an effective communicator, this may be the role for you!
